Anticipating Past Lives’ Debut Full-length Album, Tapestry of Webs

I heard Hex Takes Hold, a track from Past Lives’ new album, Webs of Tapestry, come on KEXP during my shower one morning, and I was amazed. I immediately downloaded it and listened to it again and again on my iPod. I just had to upload it here for you to listen too. It’s so crazy, and so awesomely together! The edgy guitars, hypnotizing bass, intricate and energetic drums, and of course, Jordan Blilie’s signature screaming vocals… It all sounds so good together.
Their lyrics are insane. Awesomely insane. Take these for example: “The teeth fell from my face” and “I’m telling yoooooouuuu, about the neeeewwwsss, when the skeleton jumps up from my skin, what a terrible state I’m in… I’m telling yoooooouuuu, about the neeeewwwsss…”

Since the Blood Brothers broke up in 2007, nothing’s been the same - but it has been super awesome. Past Lives are sick, live and on record! Their eclectic and energetic performance will have you begging for more. Past Lives’ debut album, Tapestry Of Webs, is to be released in February this year.
Just the other day, I was in Trading Musician in the U-District looking for a new guitar, amp, pedals, and cables. Who happened to walk in, but Past Lives’ guitarist, Devin Welch. We had a chance to talk for a second - what a nice, humble fellow.

I once was walking around with some friends on Broadway, and ran into Morgan Henderson, one of the guitarists (the one that isn’t Devin), in front of Rite Aid.
On April 25th, 2008, Past Lives played a show at the Vera Project with The Mae Shi (currently not playing shows), PRE, and Talbot Tagora. I loved all those bands then, and I still do. Here are some photos I took that night:

In Vera’s Greenroom: I was like, “Throw up the Wu-tang!” and Mark Gajadhar (far right) just happened to be wearing a Wu-tang belt buckle to flash at the camera. Too filthy.
